THERE will be a nautical flavour to Hereford Choral Society's next concert on March 24 in Hereford Cathedral.
The programme includes a performance of A Sea Symphony, which brings together the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams and the poems of Walt Whitman.
"A Sea Symphony is a tremendous evocation of ships and sailing," says Geraint Bowen, society conductor.
"At times, you can almost feel the wind and spray in your face.
"Our audience will also love Poulenc's Gloria, which is the first half of the programme - a delightfully witty piece full of Parisian joie de vivre."
He added: "Our soloists are Carys Lane and Peter Savidge, both of whom we are delighted to welcome back to perform with us."
Tickets for the concert, at 7.30pm, are available from David Plowman on 01432 274144.
