A UKRAINIAN evening will raise money to help bring children effected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster to Herefordshire for a holiday.

A special appeal for the Hereford charity Camps for Children of Chernobyl is to be launched to restart the programme at Dinedor Camp.

It is hoped to bring 30 children, aged between 10 and 14 whose health has been severely effected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster to the county, for a three week holiday.

The event, on Friday, March 23, will include Ukrainian folk songs and a performance by accordion player Jonathan Penley.

It takes place at 7.30pm at the Town Hall in Hereford and tickets cost £10 on the door or in advance from Juliette Wilson 07818 064719.
