A WELSH male voice choir sang its way to £3,825 in a concert at the Priory Church in Leominster.

There were cries of encore and the Bargoed Male Voice Choir extended its programme to the delight of more than 400 people in the audience.

The choir, no strangers to Leominster, being regular visitors to the Rankin Club, were in the town to help raise money for the North Herefordshire Macmillan Renton Appeal and gave their services free.

The event was sponsored by June French, of Leominster, and two of the town's business people, DV Watkins and BJ Watkins, and with their help was able to raise £3,825 for the appeal.

The group chairman, Denise Pugh, said she was delighted with the result and said that since August they had banked £35,240 for the Renton appeal, with more money still coming in.
