VISITORS to the Kempley Daffodil Weekend have the chance to support an initiative to remove "foreign" daffodils from the famous wild woods on the Herefordshire border.
Hybrid daffodils were potted up last year by Kempley daffodil project volunteers, working with Forestry Commission staff.
Now the 600 pots are flowering in the village and are ready to be taken back by many of the expected 4,000 visitors in Kempley this weekend, who will be able to return home and plant the flowers in their own gardens.
Organisers believe the project is a successful example of what can be achieved through co-operation between local people and Government agencies.
