VISUALLY impaired theatre goers in Hereford can now enjoy a better night out.
The Courtyard Audio Description Association provides an audio service by using infra-red headsets to link them with a trained person who gives a commentary of what is happening on stage.
New state-of-the-art headphones have now been provided through a donation from Sun Valley Foods.
"The headphones are a vital part of the service we now offer our clients," said Elsie Harberd, of the Audio Description Association.
"Once the describer has set the scene and described in detail the characters, costumes and the stage set they must keep pace with the action taking place on stage, fitting the commentary into pauses between the dialogue and explaining to the visually impaired audience any crucial facial expressions or silent actions."
