A JAPANESE language club launched by the mother of a student at Leominster's Minster College has led to examination success for members.
Simon Beeden, Katie Francis, Melanie Booth and Chrissie Burgoyne gained best grade in their OCR Asset Languages Breakthrough examination in speaking, reading and writing Japanese.
Club founder and tutor Masayo Long, who hails from Japan, was thrilled with the results which she described as "fantastic news".
A Year 11 pupil and club member, Mrs Long's daughter Sarah, gained GCSE A* Japanese and top grade in her OCR intermediate level examination in Year 10. She is now seeking higher qualifications.
