The Old House museum in High Town, Hereford, will be closed to visitors for a week later in March and for a second week in April.

The closure is to allow for repairs to be carried out by a contractor who specialises in working on and restoring period buildings. The work involves traditional lime plastering.

Built in 1621, the Old House has been used for many purposes over the years, but is now a museum giving an insight into daily life in Jacobean times. It is furnished in period style and there are interesting pieces in every room. Of particular interest are the wall paintings and beds.

The Old House will be closed to visitors from Monday, March 19 to Monday, March 26 and again from Monday, April 11 to Monday, April 16. It will be open to visitors from Tuesday, March 27 to Monday, April 10 and then re-opens fully to the public on Tuesday, April 17.
