THE Royal Opera House's production of Swan Lake, starring Natalia Osipova as Odette/Odile and Matthew Golding as Prince Siegfried, will be screened live at Ludlow Assembly Rooms and The Regal in Tenbury Wells on Tuesday, March 17.

Anthony Dowell’s production of the greatest romantic ballet draws upon the opulence of 1890s Russia to tell the captivating story of a beautiful woman transformed into a swan.

From Royal Ballet's earliest days, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake has been one of its signature works. In this interpretation, producer Anthony Dowell returned to an authentic version of the choreography based on the 1895 production.

Designer Yolanda Sonnabend’s sets, meanwhile, draw on the Russian Imperial Court of that period, blending historical accuracy with gothic fantasy.

Swan Lake will also be screened at The Courtyard (01432 340555) in Hereford on Tuesday, March 24. Ludlow Assembly Rooms; 01584 878141, ludlowassemblyrooms.co.uk; Regal, Tenbury Wells, 01584 811442, regaltenbury.co.uk
