ONE of the most highly acclaimed folk and bluegrass bands in the UK, The Southern Tenant Folk Reunion, bring an eclectic mix of high energy atmospheric folk to The Courtyard this evening.
This exciting live show promises to engage the audience through a mix of informal stories and discussions, combined with a thought-provoking and arresting take on roots and folk music from across the band’s career to date.
The act is worked around a single microphone and led by Pat McGarvey, who drives the band forward by taking genre clichés and subverting them into more interesting shapes and patterns.
Past winners of the ‘Americana Artist of the Year’ award, the band create an inventive and artistic mix of roots music that is released completely independently, mostly recently with their sixth album, The Chuck Norris Project.
Live reviews of their concert performances have picked up on their ‘tight delivery and soaring, gorgeous harmonies’ saying that ‘STFU are a must see live band combining a rich blend of musical talent with a high-octane Appalachian style.’
The Southern Tenant Folk Reunion will be in the Studio Theatre tonight at 8pm.To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk
