H.ART has helped Kingsland Church raise thousands for local artists and for its restoration and improvement. Organised by SMAAAK (the Friends of St Michael and All Angels) and artists, Shannon Donovan, Andrew Eastwood and Ruth Cameron-Swan, Kingsland h.Art showcased 20 talented artists, attracted over 1,200 visitors and realised over £8,000 in sales. A total of 25% of the sales, after costs, will go to the church restoration fund.
SMAAAK trustee and organiser Jim Davies commented: "As a first time h.Art venue, it was a gamble, but we felt that h.Art offered us a brilliant opportunity not only to showcase our wonderfully talented local artists, but also draw visitors to our beautiful Grade 1 listed church and wider village. We take enormous pride in the visitor feedback which commented on the sheer quality and variety of the artwork on show. We look forward to taking part in h.Art 2015."
