WOLVES, horses and white walkers were all on display in a unique wedding at Eastnor Castle inspired by a popular fantasy drama.

Darren Prew and Kerry Ford, from Hereford, won a competition to stage a mock 'Game of Thrones' wedding at the iconic castle near Ledbury.

The couple dressed as characters Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, while the 12-strong wedding party took more than 50 hours to be transformed into other stars of the popular American show.

The programme once featured a 'red wedding' in which everyone was massacred.

But, there was no such drama at Eastnor during Darren and Kerry's nuptials.

Kerry even arrived on a white horse, while Darren steeped out from nearby trees with two wolf dogs on leashes.

"I thought the transformation was amazing, it was like marrying Jon Snow," said Kerry.

"It was very weird and surreal to see Darren like that."

Television and movie streaming service blinkbox ran a competition for a couple to stage the mock wedding to celebrate it screening series four.

Hundreds of people responded, but it was plasterer Darren who clinched it – much to Kerry's surprise.

"I was on Facebook one evening and I saw and advertisement seeking couples to marry Game of Thrones style," said Kerry.

"I mentioned it to Darren said asked who would do that?

"Little did I know that he then went online and applied – without telling me."

Darren said that the couple were planning on getting married next year, but it was too good an opportunity to turn down.

He said: "I have been a massive Game of Thrones fan since the beginning, so having our best day styled in such an amazing way is a dream come true."

Best woman Carey McKeown, 35, took on the role of a wildling, while best man Mike McKeown, 33, dressed as a white walker.

The wedding cake, comprising of each of the Game of Thrones' houses, the drama's wedding vows, and King Joffrey's crown made out of chocolate, took 20 hours to make.

Adrian Letts, managing director of blinkbox Movies, said: "We are obsessed with Game of Thrones and we wanted to reward a couple that are as passionate about it as us."
