A NEW theatre company, Two Score Years &10+, for actors aged 50 and above, are auditioning on Saturday, January 18 for the male roles for a very special production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
Founded by co-directors Tenbury-based Julie Butler and Kate Garman, who lives in Kington, the company has been selected by the RSC to be part of its Openstages project in 2014/15, and with he advantage of mentoring and coaching from the RSC's Stratford directors, the actors will bring a true Royal Shakespeare Company performance to the region.
Two Score Years &10+ was formed by Julie and Kate, both former professional actors who met at drama school and share a passion for Shakespeare's work, and they promise that their Twelfth Night will be an entertainment incorporating song, dance, stage combat and more….
"It’s thrilling to be among the few chosen for this prestigious project," say Kate and Julie, who were chosen from 150 applicants nationwide. In the spirit of the Openstages project, Twelfth Night will be a non-profit making production where all performers are unpaid.
