LOCAL HISTORY GROUP - Liz Pitman will be giving an illustrated talk on Lady Diarists and the Tour of Wales tomorrow (Friday). She will describe the travels and adventures of English women who explored the wild beauties of Wales in the early 19th century, a truly foreign country to them. Their diaries tell of the wild mountains, rushing waterfalls, decaying castles, and the inns, where just occasionally an inebriated landlord ‘mistook’ the room of one of their women guests for their own. It will be held in Fownhope Memorial Hall at 7.30pm and all are welcome.
Members of the group free, visitors £2. Teas and coffees will be available
