A NEW cancer support group is launched in the county this week by Wye Valley NHS Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Herefordshire Cancer Buddies (HCB) has been set up following an event held for cancer survivors earlier this year.
Cancer survivors with firsthand experience of the challenges a cancer diagnosis can bring will be running the group, with support from healthcare professionals at the trust.
Brian Holley, a volunteer with the Macmillan Renton Unit and recovering cancer patient, said: “From my own experience, being diagnosed with cancer can be a very difficult and lonely time.
“The Buddies will give people good opportunities to network with others in the same position as themselves.”
The first meeting of HCB kicks off on September 23 at the Starlight Room, Hereford United Football Club.
