EARDISLAND BOWLING CLUB - Following a heavy weekend defeat at Ledbury the club made the short trip to Presteigne recently and stunned the home side by winning impressively on all four rinks. Best rink was skip Dave Bray who celebrated his birthday with a convincing 30 shots to 10 win, ably helped by Joan Stokes, Jayne Sharp and Gill Williams, whilst there were also wins for Tony Stokes, Phil Sharp and Jonathan Farndon, who fought back from ten shots down.

EARDISLAND IN BLOOM - The committee would like to thank all those in the village who helped with this year's campaign, which made such a huge impression on the Heart of England in Bloom judges when they visited. About 40 people were present at the bowling club to give the judges a warm welcome when the tour finished there.

GRAND ANNUAL BARBECUE - At Hardwick House, August 3, 6.30pm-10pm. Plans are now being finalised for this ever popular evening in aid of Eardisland church funds. Tickets are £12 adult, five to 17-year-olds £7 and no charge for under-fives. The ticket includes a full barbecue meal, live music and a firework display set in a stunning background.
