CHARITY DONATION – Artie and Pat Attwood would like to thank everyone who attended their golden wedding anniversary party. £280 was donated for Parkinsons UK and Kidney Research UK.

PLAYGROUP SHOP – Radnor Valley Playgroup and Parent and Toddler Group are running Kington community shop to raise funds. The playgroup will be running the shop in Kington from Saturday until April 26 to raise funds to improve the facilities at the setting. They have already received some lovely donations of toys, lots of good quality baby, children’s and adults’ clothing, furniture, electrical items and bric a brac.

If you are able to donate any unwanted items they can be left at The Old School, New Radnor or if you have any items you would like collected please contact Shirley Hughes – 07789628802 (chairman). A selection of draw prizes which include a food hamper donated by Tesco so please call in to buy a raffle ticket.

The parent and toddler group meet every Monday during term time from 9.15am to 11.30am.

Sessions are £2.50 with the first session free. The playgroup offers quality, affordable, childcare for children aged from two to five years of age. Morning sessions run Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, 9.15am – 12.15pm for only £6 per session, then fully funded places available for children aged three to five years. KINGTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY – Next meeting is today (Thursday) at 7.30pm in the Masonic Hall, Headbrook, Kington. The speaker is Dr Murrey Mylechreest on Botany for Gardeners. Doors open at 7pm, visitors welcome, £2.50.

KINGTON U3A – The next social meeting for Kington U3A will be on May, at 2pm at our usual venue of Kington football club. The title for this meeting is Martin Wood – Former Shrewsbury town crier.

An interesting look at this traditional office. All are welcome to listen to our speakers and to discover new interest groups.
