A SUPPORT group is warning that carers in the county may be missing out on help to which they are entitled.

Herefordshire Carers Support say that people caring for a sick or disabled relative at home may be missing out on benefits such as carer's allowance or pension credit.

"Anyone who looks after a sick or disabled person on an unpaid basis is a carer and may be able to get help," said Margaret James, manager of Herefordshire Carers Support.

"Many carers are unaware of the benefits and services available to them so they would be very welcome to come along to our events for some advice."

The group is staging two awareness events on Wednesday, December 6 in their mobile unit at Morrisons in Leominster between 9am and 3pm. Two days later on Friday, December 8, they will be in Hereford at the Maylords Shopping Centre between 10am and 3pm.
