OLI Hughes, 24, who grew up in Weston-under-Penyard, is on the ladder to fame and fortune.
Since becoming drummer in band Alterkicks at John Moores University in Liverpool, where he gained a degree in psychology, Oli's horizons have broadened.
The band's first single, Do Everything I Taught You, sold out in March 2005 and was followed up by Oh Honey. The boys were then signed by B-Unique and released their new single, On a Holiday this week.
Having recently completed a tour with indie band The Automatic, the boys have upped the stakes considerably from playing venues of 200 -800, to playing live to crowds of a 1,000-plus.
They are now in the studio writing before heading up to London to record their first album.
Getting signed by B-unique has enabled Oli to give up his job as support worker and devote himself to music full time.
"It means we can pay our rent, go on tour, make an album and promote it properly," he said.
