HEREFORD Expedition Group is providing a chance for young people to take part in a life changing experience.

Building on from the successes of the 2007 and 2009 expeditions to Borneo and the 2012 expedition to Thailand, the group is providing another opportunity for 32 young people from the county, aged 15 to 17, to participate in another life changing experience.

The 23-day Nepal expedition in August 2014 will focus on community and conservation work and adventure.

The programme includes living with a local host family in a village in Chitwan, working at the monastery with Buddhist monks and in an orphanage.

There will also be a chance to undertake trekking in the Himalayas and to visit the Chitwan National Park, riding elephants and learning about the native wild animals.

With guidance and instruction from professional staff, the successful applicants will have the chance to find undiscovered skills and qualities, alongside contributing to group life in a challenging environment.

The group will provide intensive training and support, both before and during the expedition.

To raise the money the group will be involved in organising fund-raising activities from car washing and sponsored events to a charity ball and music nights, alongside approaching local business for sponsorship.
