BAZAAR - There is a Christmas bazaar in St Mary Magdalene Church from 10am until noon on Saturday. Festive items include cakes, Christmas flowers, gifts, Traidcraft and tombola.

CAROLS - The St Mary Magdalene Church choir, together with Almeley choristers, sang carols at the Kington Festive Food event on Saturday. Together with village friends they will be singing carols around the village on December 19. Any money collected will be donated to Clic Sargent Cancer Care for Children. There will be a carol service in the church on December 23 at 6.30pm.

METHODIST CHURCH - The 11am services in December will be conducted by Mr A Weston (this Sunday), Rev Stone (December 16), the OA carol service (23) and Rev Crew (30).

ROYAL BRITISH LEGION - Eardisley branch meets at the New Strand at 8pm today (Thursday).

SOCIAL WHIST - Also at the New Strand, the last whist drive of the year is on December 17 with play starting at 7.45pm.

LUNCH - Christmas lunch will take place in the village hall on December 16. It is planned to have a raffle, in aid of the Hereford Open Door charity, and donations will be greatly appreciated.

MUSIC - Experienced local musicians Ocean Blue provide some hot music for a cold night with jazz, Latin, blues and calypso-tinged tunes at Eardisley Village Hall on Saturday, 8pm. £3. Bring a bottle. For details, call 01544 230503.
