With the continued wet weather here’s the chance to taste a little bit of Spain – thinly sliced chorizo, a reminder of warm summer evenings.
One of the newest additions to the regular Herefordshire Farmers’ Markets is Andrew Keysell from Keysells farm, a 60 acre family farm in Rochford near Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire. The trading name for their free range meat is Rochford Country Meats
They rear free range saddleback pigs in outdoor arcs all year round. In 2006 they were awarded a Regional Great Taste Award for their pork sausage being ‘Best Speciality from the Heart of England’.
In 2013 Cheryl and Andrew decided to expand their product line and try their hand at making Chorizo and Salami. Andrew Keysell selects the prime cuts of pork for both chorizo & salami before adding spices, red wine and garlic to give this English charcuterie its own special flavour.
You can find Rochford Country meats at Hereford & Leominster farmers’ market where they sell their Chorizo and Salami together with handmade, hot water crust pork pies, sausage rolls, faggots & black pudding.
