ROSS-ON-Wye made their mark in the club's history books by going the whole season with a 100 per cent record.

For the first time in the club's history Ross won all their league games and both the The Forest of Dean combination cup and the North Midlands Vase.

Their last game saw them bid to retain the trophy they won last year against the unknown quantity of Dudley Wasps which they did running over seven tries and taking a 41-12 victory.

Within ten minutes Ross were two tries to the good with Chris Thomas scoring wide on the right before Louis Morgan doubled their advantage finishing off the offloading from Johnnie Baynham and Casey Morgan.

Dudley, as the home team in front of a large crowd looked to get back into the game through their big ball carriers.

However the Ross defence held firm and after weathering the storm Ross hit back with two further scores ,first it was Gavin Oates who outpaced the home defence to score then Josh Element crashed over Thai Hayward adding another conversion as they went into the break 24-5 ahead.

The second half mirrored the first with Ross started strongly and within five minutes Gavin Oates had added another score putting Ross 31-5 clear before Marcus Barnard took a quick tap penalty and sidestepped his way through the retreating defence to score.

Then after a Dudley knock on at halfway the ball fell to Peter Jarvis who chipped the ball to winger Craig Smith who outpaced the defence to score putting Ross to a 41-12 victory.

"It's amazing to win the league and two cups while being undefeated, the players and coaches have been absolutely superb," said first team manager Keith Scrivens.

"It's been the best run in the history of the club and we went back to the 1950s checking. We will try and hit the ground running next season and aim to consolidate our league status.
