HEREFORD Colts joined Luctonians in the final of the North Midlands Cup after clinching a 31-15 victory over Birmingham Solihull Colts scoring five tries to their opponents two.

Hereford controlled the first half and registering tries from Ewan Proctor, Jurijs Kudrjavcevs and Joe Vaughan with Bryn Goodall converting two.

Birmingham Solihull’s only reply was a penalty goal taking the half time score to 19-3.

Hereford added two further tries in the second period from Proctor and Rhys Samuels with Bryn Goodall on form again with the boot converting Samuels’ try.

Birmingham Solihull also notched up a brace of second half tries and converted one but they were comfortably beaten

Former club first XV captain, Luke Yarranton said that it was some of the best colts rugby that he had ever seen. They will now go on to meet local rivals Luctonians in the final for the second year running on a date to be confirmed.

It was a good weekend for Hereford as their first team ran out 35-14 winners at Moseley Oak after an emphatic second half performance.

Hereford, with several influential players missing, started well and were seven points up within minutes of the kick-off with Will Ford crossing the whitewash and James Stubbs converting.

The home team responded with a try after 15 minutes and the teams changed ends with the score at 7-7.

In the second period, the Wyesiders had more possession and ran in four further tries through Ford, Fran Jennings, Stubbs and Jordan Sheehy before Moseley Oak were gifted a consolation penalty try.
