GREYHOUND have the chance to banish last season's heartbreak and clinch promotion back into Midlands 4 with victory in their final home game of the season.

The Hereford Racecourse based side have won 11 and lost just one game in their Midlands 5 West (North) campaign and go into the final two matches nine points clear at the top.

A victory over Warley on Saturday would secure promotion before travelling to second place Linley on the final day of the season.

The club are hoping to bring the kick-off time at Hereford Racecourse forward to 2.30pm.

"We are playing really well and are a club that are definitely on the up at the moment on and off the pitch," said Chairman and player Chris Ricketts.

"We have only lost one game all season which was at Bishops Castle but it was a different story when they came to our place. With our recent form and results going our way everything is going right. Our coach Pete Williams has been working hard with us in training and we are listening to him and showing it on the pitch, so we really appreciate his efforts.

"We got relegated two seasons ago and just missed out on promotion last year on the last day of the season. We were top going into the final day but lost by two points at Market Drayton and missed out on the second promotion spot.

"In hindsight it was a blessing in disguise as after the heart ache the club is now more stable and we have recruited some good lads on the pitch. Next season we want to keep the lads we have got and recruit a couple of extra players so we can progress as much as we can."
