FORMER Greyhound player Izzy Noel-Smith scored a try for England tonight in their Women's World Cup Final defeat to New Zealand.
Noel-Smith was forced over by her team-mates with three minutes to go, but the Red Roses were unable to add any more scores against their strong opponents.
Noel-Smith came on after an hour in the gripping match which New Zealand won 41-32.
The forward, who lived in Much Dewchurch for 11 years, featured in four of England's five matches.
England were the defending champions and stormed into a 17-5 lead.
But New Zealand always looked strong on the break and ran in a total of seven tries.
