ATHLETES who compete and train with the help of the Halo Sport Foundation came together to celebrate the initiative recently.
The foundation was set up to support the ambitions of local athletes who face financial barriers to competing at national and international level.
Some of the 113 sports men and women supported by the foundation from across Herefordshire representing a myriad of sports (from swimming to shooting, running to rowing) came together to celebrate the initiative and to say thanks to the charity for grants and free training opportunities that ensures they can keep their eyes on their goal and potential gold medals in future competitions.
“We work hard to raise money for this cause, and to work with local sports clubs and athletes to make sure they know this pathway of support is open to them,” said Halo’s CEO Scott Rolfe, pictured far left. “But it’s evenings like this one that underline why the Foundation matters; when you see and hear about the difference that support makes to these local people. I couldn’t be more proud of Halo and the athletes we support."
The charity's Patron is Sascha Kindred CBE.
