GYMNASTS from Hereford took a record medal haul for their club when they competed in the National Development Plan (NDP) Team Finals.

Sixteen members of Hereford Dynamix jumped into action at the Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham, last month along with over 1,000 competitors.

The national team event brought together gymnasts from across 12 different regions of the UK, to compete in trampoline, double mini-trampoline (DMT) and tumbling.

The girls and boys competing hoped to secure a top eight finish in their category to gain a place at this years British NDP Finals in Telford next weekend.

For 10 out of the Hereford team's 16 qualifiers this was their first time competing as part of the West Midlands squad.

Abbie Godsall, Emily Godsall, Max Cotterrell, Liam Cotterrell, Eli Jones, Anna Inglis, Jazmine O'Leary, Eden McGarvie, Marcus Carey Powell, Lilly Mills, Bailee-Jo Horton, Emily-Jane Cox, Emily Potter, Eva Webb, Tristan Watts and Emogene Mullis all contributed to the West Midlands winning the overall Trampoline Team Final 2017 title.

Twelve of the Hereford club's gymnasts placed in the top eight allowing them entry into the British NDP Finals.

Hereford Dynamix also recorded the club's own record haul of medals at a national event for members in their individual categories.

Medallists were: Max Cotterrell first in trampoline and third in DMT, Liam Cotterrell first in trampoline, Jazmine O'Leary first DMT, Marcus Carey Powell first DMT, Eva Webb second DMT, Emily Godsall third DMT and Anna Inglis third DMT.

Hereford Dynamix will be holding a trial later in the year for six, seven and eight year olds to join their squad.
