HEREFORD’S Greg Jenkins will be hoping for another good outing this weekend as he bids to win the Mighty Minis Championship.

Jenkins has opened up a healthy lead at the top of the standings going into the meeting at Castle Coombe following a double win at Thruxton.

He drew first blood in the first race and battled against rival Sam Tomlinson during the 20 minute race.

The lead changed several times, but Jenkins pulled away with two laps remaining to record his third win of the season.

Race two was a partial reverse grid, which meant that Jenkins lined up in eighth place.

After a frantic few corners, Jenkins found his way to the front, but after leading for a couple of laps, Mark Burnett and Stuart Coombs caught and passed him.

However, Jenkins took his opportunity on the last lap to overtake the pair and record another win. And with Tomlinson having mechanical problems in the second race, it has given Jenkins a great opportunity to seal the title this Saturday.

Fellow Hereford driver Josh Young is fourth in the standings.
