PRESTEIGNE'S promotion hopes have taken a slight knock after going down 1-0 to Dowlais in Premier 2 of the South Wales Hockey League

The midfield of Charlotte Jones, Beth Watson, Sioned Price and Ellie Williams worked hard to stop Dowlais breaking through and made some excellent passes to keep Presteigne attacking. But a break from Dowlais resulted in them, being awarded a penalty corner which they converted.

Presteigne battled hard to get back in the game, but were unable to force an equaliser.

They will continue their fight for promotion with a home match against Cardiff University Thirds this Saturday.

In Division One, Kington drew 2-2 with Whitchurch Saints.
