HEREFORD Seconds eased their relegation fears with an excellent 5-2 win against third-placed East Gloucestershire in Severn Division 1 of the West Clubs’ Women’s Hockey League.
It was only the third win of the season for the city side, but the victory would have give them a lot of confidence as they look to stay in the division.
It is looking bleak for Colwall & Malvern though, who are rock bottom. Their latest defeat was a 9-0 hammering at Cheltenham Fourths. In Premier Division 2A, Hereford lost 4-2 at leaders Newent, while Leominster fell to a a 6-0 defeat at Old Bristolians in Conference North.
Ross-on-Wye beat Painswick 1-0 in Severn Division 3.
Meanwhile, in the South Wales League, Presteigne lost 3-0 to Swansea University, but Kington beat Dinefwr A’r Fro 3-0.
In De Cymru & The Marches 1 of the GoCrea8 Hockey League, county rivals Ross-on-Wye and Hereford shared a 3-3 draw, while Leominster were on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Cheltenham Thirds. In The Marches 1, both Hereford Seconds and Leominster Seconds won their respective games.
