ROSS-ON-WYE Hockey claimed an excellent 3-1 win against De Cymru & The Marches 1 leaders Bristol & West at the weekend.
The victory leaves the south Herefordshire side in fifth place in the division.
Just one place below Ross are Hereford, who went down 2-1 to Bridgend.
Leominster, who are eighth, saw off Lansdown 5-3.
Meanwhile, Presteigne beat Cardiff University Medics 4-2 in Premier 2 of the South Wales Hockey League.
Charlotte Jones opened the scoring for Presteigne before Cardiff equalised.
Flick Collins restored Presteigne's advantage, but Cardiff scored again just before half time to make it 2-2.
However, Presteigne continued their strong play after the break and added two further goals through Jess Goodwin.
Kington drew 1-1 with Brecon in Division One.
