WITH the Olympics now in full swing, Ross-on-Wye Hockey Club's Under-16s can remember the day they played at the Olympic Hockey Stadium.
There may not have been the glitz and glamour that greeted the opening ceremony in Rio later in the day, but Ross still took many memories from the event.
The team were taking part in an invitational under-16 tournament at Lee Valley, which involved two other sides from London.
Ross won their first match against Walthamstow 4-0 thanks to two goals from Freddie Oubridge-Brock and one each by Carys Williams and Welsh international Rory Calderwood.
And another victory followed, this time a 3-0 success over East London Club; Amie Jenkins and Calderwood scoring the goals.
Freddie Talbot was named South Hereford Motorcaravans Player of the Match against Walthamstow, while Elliot Smith claimed the prize against East London.
