PRESTEIGNE rounded off their South Wales Hockey League Premier 2 campaign with a convincing 4-0 win over Dowlais.

Presteigne dominated from the start, with the midfield of Lesley Phillips, Sioned Price, Sian Bull and Debbie Evans working hard to keep the ball in the attacking half.

Pressure was piled onto the Dowlais keeper who made some excellent saves to stop Presteigne from scoring.

Presteigne then came out fighting in the second half with some brilliant passing from midfield to attack allowing Price to find Presteigne’s first goal,

That was shorty followed by the second as an open goal led to Price again getting on the scoresheet.

A break from Presteigne then saw Charlie Morris make a dash down the wing who found the stick of Jess Goodwin in the circle to make it 3-0.

And hard work by Presteigne finally paid off as they were awarded a short corner allowing Goodwin to make a shot on goal which was deflected by the Dowlais defence into the back of the net.

Price was awarded the player of the match for her hard work in midfield.
