A LINK between Hartpury College and Westfields is proving a fruitful one as the allpay.park side approach an 'absolutely crazy' run of games which will see them play four more games this month.

Andy Bevan's side hosted Heanor Town last night before playing Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday and completing their campaign at Rugby Town next weekend.

"It's absolutely crazy," said the Westfields manager.

“When these guys for the little bit of expenses they get for travelling when they go Tuesday night and get home at 1.45am and work all day Wednesday trying to recover and then go again Thursday it's hard which is what we said going into this run."

Bevan has brought in Seth Antwi into the squad to play alongside fellow college student Kingsford Adjei.

"The Hartpury College lads have been fantastic for us, I'm delighted with them as their attitude is spot on to be fair," added Bevan.

"We have got great links with the college and they are very respectful of what we are trying to do and how we treat the players. If you treat people right then they will come back to the club which is what we do with Hartpury and they keep lending us the players which is great.

"It puts them into senior football and we do a little bit different with our game plans as well which is improving their knowledge. I was talking to Seth and there are things that he needs to develop into his game and senior football is brilliant for him. The problem they find is because of the physicality in this league you need to manage the game in your way and not as they want to do at a young age bombing all over the pitch.

Antwi came on for Westfield's during Wednesday night's 1-0 victory over Coventry Sphinx before his side draw 1-1 at Coleshill Town on Saturday thanks to a goal from substitute Ben Miller.

“It’s what I wanted to do play outside college, I found Westfields and I think it is going well although it is a different style of play so I have to adjust," said Antwi.

“We play a different type in college compared to this which is different. It is a lot more physical and the intensity is different, before you get the ball you have to think quickly and differently.

“I have just come in so I have to get used to the style of play and get in the team. Kingsford (Adjei) came in last year and it was kind of a stepping stone as he is doing really well.”
