MIDFIELDER Craig Jones is confident Westfields can progress further in the FA Vas this weekend.

Sean Edwards' team face South West Peninsula Premier Division leaders Plymouth Parkway, who have won 17 out of their 18 games this season, scoring 80 goals in the process.

But Jones believes Westfields have enough armoury in their attack to hurt the Devon-based side.

Should Westfields win, they will equal the club's record of reaching the fourth round of the competition.

"There's no reason why we can't do well in the Vase and do what Hereford did because playing at Wembley is the incentive," said Jones.

"The Vase is like the FA Cup at our level.

"We will show them the respect they deserve because we know they've got a couple of good goalscorers and midfielders who can also add goals.

"We're not going to go gung-ho but will still play our game.

"Mark Magee is a natural goalscorer for us and I think it has benefitted Richard Greaves having someone to play with upfront with him.

"Jamie Molyneux also adds something and we've now got Aidan Thomas back fit.

"There's also myself and the wingers, like Carlos Moreira and Ben Hayes, who can score goals, plus our defenders are also chipping in.

"So we've got goals all over the team, we just need to ensure we defend well."

Westfields go into the game on the back of a 6-0 thrashing of Quorn in the Midland Football League Premier Division.

The game was put back 15 minutes due to the Leicestershire side being stuck in traffic on their way to allpay.park.

But once Jones put Westfields ahead in the 23rd minute, there was no stopping them.

Jones went on to score a hat-trick, with Molyneux also chipping in with a brace.

"We needed that because we didn't want to go into this Saturday's game on the back of losing to a team near the bottom of the league," added Jones.

"We seem to be a bit 'hit and miss' this season, but it was a good win and for me personally, it was good to get a hat-trick.

"I've been doing a bit of work with Andy Bevan in terms of my shooting so I'm glad it paid off.

"The delay affected us as well because we came out for the warm-up and then the game was put back 15 minutes.

"For the first 15 minutes we were awful, but once we got the first goal, we were ok."

Westfields went into half-time 2-0 up, with Molyneux adding the second goal on the half-hour mark.

Two quick goals from Jones and Molyneux just past the hour mark made it 4-0 before Phil Glover added another goal.

Jones capped a fine performance by sealing his hat-trick 10 minutes from time.
