HEREFORD fans have been urged to purchase season tickets early in order to help their side be as competitive as possible next season.

Manager Pete Beadle is currently in talks with the club's board about next season's budget and his salary but says the fans need to be 'even greater' to help them be competitive during their maiden season in the National League North or South.

"It's tough for everybody to find the right balance as obviously we want to be competitive and keep this momentum going but a lot of that will come down to what they're figuring in for estimated season ticket sales, said Beadle.

"It's really important that our supporters as great as they've been are even greater next year as the more season tickets they buy the more chance we have of being more competitive.

"We know that the average attendance has dropped every year in the last three years. There are some full-time clubs in both divisions and ex-professional managers and it would be lovely to start averaging between 2,800 and 3,000, if we could get there it gives us a fighting chance of being competitive.

Beadle is currently in contract talks with the club's board regarding his future at the club.

He added: "We're not looking to leave or go anywhere but I've been under contract for two seasons now which has been the same and so now is the time to think that my staff should also be on contract and maybe we've earned a pay rise.

"There is no issues between me and the board or looking to do anything different but just discussions as every club will be about where we need to go next as a football club and it's best interest.

"As soon as we get our budget confirmed we can move on from that and start negotiating with players here now and then move on to our targets after that."

Hereford are currently arranging their pre-season campaign during July and Beadle hopes that there will be some fixtures to draw a big crowd into Edgar Street.

"Our pre-season is almost set now and we're just waiting for two to come back to confirm," he added.

"The training programme needs to be tailored to the games and the league starts the first week of August. The games will get progressively harder but is purely about getting player's rhythm back and match fitness into their legs.

"We're looking at seven games this season and looking at going back June 23 or 26 into training.

When asked if any leagues sides will be visiting Edgar Street in the pre-season, Beadle said: "Hopefully we have got two we are waiting for and one is pretty much done so we will have some nice opposition here and the more people that come to watch them, it's extra revenue that we didn't bargain on.

"Hopefully some nice fixtures for the fans to get their teeth into."

Meanwhile Hereford have announced that Central Roofing will be their front of shirt sponsor for the 2018/19 National League season.

The new front of shirt sponsorship deal means that Jewson will now take up other commercial opportunities within the club.
