WELLINGTON manager Gary Stevens was delighted with his team's performance as they returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory at Dudley Sports on Tuesday night.

After mixed form in recent weeks they got off to a perfect start on 26 minutes when despite Brendon Hackett seeing his penalty saved Dave Price netted the rebound.

On the stroke of half-time they doubled their lead with Jack Lewis heading home from a Adam Newbury free-kick.

Newbury himself sealed the victory with a late third goal.

"It was a very good performance in poor conditions and on a pitch which isn't the best in the world, said Stevens.

"It was bouncing and bobbling all over the place and was really heavy. But the lads performed excellently all around and I can't pick one player out, it was a very good team performance and I don't think the keeper had to make a save.

"I was disappointed we didn't score more and told them that at the end but if somebody offered me 3-0 before we come I would have accepted that."
