HEREFORD manager Pete Beadle says Mike McGrath needs to cut out the amount of bookings he receives.

The central midfielder will sit out this Saturday's Evo-Stik South Premier match against Dorchester Town after already picking up five yellow cards.

"Mike is a very combative person and we don't want to take that side out of his game, but he has picked up five yellow cards in only nine games, so he needs to learn not to give away silly fouls," said Beadle.

"Some of the yellow cards have been for niggly free-kicks, so sometimes he needs to know when to take the foul and when to stay on his feet.

"We've been quite lucky with bookings, but Mike struggles to get out of the referee's notebook."

McGrath has formed a key partnership with Calvin Dinsley in the middle of the park.

"The pair have done brilliantly, but now it will now be an opportunity for someone to come in and stake a claim for a place," added Beadle.

Following the Dorchester game, Hereford are on the road next Tuesday when they face Banbury United.
