THE MOST successful ever dressage rider and Olympic champion will be visiting Ledbury to sign her new book this evening (Thursday).

The almost sold out event at The Feathers Hotel, Ledbury, will see Charlotte Dujardin talk about her life and successful career as told in her brand new autobiography, The Girl on the Dancing Horse.

Dujardin, from Newent, and her charismatic horse Valegro burst onto the international sports scene with their record-breaking performance at the London 2012 Olympics.

The elite British dressage rider won triple Gold Medalist at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games, was European Champion and World Champion and holds all three World Records in the sport of dressage.

She began riding horses at the age of two, but dressage was firmly the domain of the wealthy.

Her parents sacrificed a lot to support her and Charlotte left school at 16 to follow her dream.

When she was invited to be a groom for the British Olympian Carl Hester, she began to ride Valegro, a dark bay gelding and an unbreakable bond was formed.

Tickets are £20 (single plus book) or £25 (double plus book) and are available from Ledbury Books (01531 633226) or www.ticketsource.co.uk/ledbury-books-and-maps-ltd.
