THERE was a good turn-out on Sunday at Brockhampton CC for the first women's softball cricket tournament of the season.
"We had 39 ladies attended playing in six teams," said Herefordshire Cricket Ltd's director of cricket Steve Watkins.
"All teams played four matches each.
"We had mixed abilities and ages and there were lots of mum and daughters playing, even a grandmother and granddaughter.
"The 39 ladies taking part included nine who were completely new to cricket.
"The sun was shining with lots of prosecco and laughter. They enjoyed it so much they want to play again and some will be signing up to the upcoming festivals at other clubs."
The next event is this Sunday at Burghill & Tillington Cricket Club start at 2pm - contact Kirsty Sockett - kirstysockett@herefordshirecricketltd.co.uk for details.
