DANIEL Bodman was a convincing winner of Wye Valley Runners' Summer 10k.

The Aberdare runner completed the race in blustery conditions in a fast time of 33.34.

Barry Reynolds, who is an unattached runner, also had a good run, finishing second in 34.34, while Steven Flowers, of Wye Valley Runners, held off a strong challenge from Severn AC's James Ross to come in third in a time of 36.08.

Sarah Sheppard of Cheltenham Harriers secured victory in the ladies race in 41.53, while Forest of Dean runner Chloe Wheeler put in a good performance to finish second with a time of 42.18.

Wye Valley's Maria Miles finished strongly in third place with a time of 44.43.

Wye Valley Runners and Hereford Couriers won the men’s and ladies team prize respectively.

The winning men’s team were Steven Flowers, Sam Mayglothling and Daniel Lewis, while Sheryl Evans, Amy Smith and Kerry Wathen were the leading ladies.

There was a good turn out for the event, with 96 of the 99 competitors completing the course in under an hour.
