HEREFORD & County Athletics Club have been promoted to Division Five of the Midland Track and Field League for the first time.

They finished second in their division and only finished 22 points behind leaders Burton.

The fourth and final meeting at Tamworth saw Hereford gain 15 firs place finishes, along with seven in the 'b' string.

Clara Evans had three wins in the 800m, 1500m and 300m, while other double winners were Megan Turton (pole vault and 100m), Sylvia Misztal (100m hurdles and 400m hurled) and Cara Bennett (shot put and discus).

Misztal also won the 'b' high jump with 1.25m, behind Nicola Masters' 1.45m victory.

Paul Graham won the 3000m in a time of 9:39.6 after two first place 'b' wins in the 800m (2:12.5) and 1500m (4:32.3), while Polly Jordan was victorious in the 100m and 200m 'b' races with times of 13.1 and 27.9 seconds respectively.

Other winners were Hannah Barnes in the hammer (29.75m), Ben Thompson in the 'b' 200m (24.9 seconds) and Ollie Howl in the 400m (55.9).

In the relays, Hereford won the men's 4x100m in 48 seconds, while the women were successful in the 4x100m (55.8) and 4x400m (4:26.9).
