HEREFORD United boss Simon Davey has not decided on his captain for the new campaign.

Goalkeeper Adam Bartlett skippered United for most of last season under John Trewick and Graham Turner.

“‘Barts’ was captain tonight and I’ll make a decision on a captain over the pre-season programme,” said Davey after last night’s match.

“I am not saying he won’t be the captain but I will be looking at all my options,” said Davey.

Davey was delighted with United’s 2-0 home win over Swansea City in last night’s warm-up match at Edgar Street.

“It was always going to be tough against a team that play football like Swansea do. They can keep the ball all day. I thought our players were magnificent.

“We have come through the game unscathed and a lot of the senior players have got a lot of minutes on the pitch.”

United face Swindon Town at Edgar Street on Friday night in another pre-season friendly.

“All the players need more time as we go into the programme and I also need to have a look at trialists,” said Davey.

“I put out my best side for 60 minutes against Swansea and we’ll just see how it goes.”
