PEGASUS Reserves will meet Leominster Town or Westfields Reserves in the final of the HFA Charity Bowl after coming from a goal down to beat Bromyard Town Reserves 2-1 in their semi-final tie at Old School Lane.

Carl Long put Town ahead minutes before half time. David Griffiths scored from a 20-yard free-kick midway through the second half to level the score and just before the end of normal time Ben Price lifted the ball over the Bromyard keeper to win the game.

A makeshift Lads Club side played with great spirit and determination to reach the semi-final stage of the HFL Strongbow Senior Cup with a hard fought 2-0 win over Ledbury Town Reserves in a quarter-final tie at New Street.

Ledbury pressed forward at the start, but Lads Club held the upper hand at the break after taking the lead on 40 minutes. Ryan Daw exchanged passes with Glen Warren before chipping the home keeper.

The second half was an end-to-end affair and, with Ledbury pushing forward towards the end, Daw made a quick break in the 90th minute to score both his, and his side’s, second goal.

The other tie was even tighter, with the home team Westfields Reserves snatching a 2-1 victory against Woofferton deep into extra-time.

In an enthralling tie, which produced numerous chances at both ends, it was surprising that the supporters had to wait until the 55th minute to witness a goal. Then it needed a hotly-disputed penalty; Dave Cooper in the away goal felt he was harshly penalised, and Phil Glover scored from the spot.

Cooper made amends with a fine save to keep Woofferton in contention and then Nathan Hodge forced extra-time with a 90th minute-equaliser.

With both sides looking tired now after midweek games, the draw and a penalty shoot-out looked to be on the cards when Ben Fuller seized on a loose ball and scored the winner in the 118th minute to set up a semi-final tie with Lads Club at the County Ground.
