TATE CAMPBELL scored a 94th minute winner to earn Hereford FC’s first win at Brackley Town and continue their unbeaten start to the season.

The Bulls went in front through Alex Babos on 40 minutes but were pegged back shortly after when Matt Lowe levelled for the home side on the stroke of half-time.

With just minutes remaining, Campbell finished off a well worked move to secure all three points for Hereford with a 2-1 victory.

Paul Caddis’ side opened the scoring in the 40th minute after Yusifu Ceesay’s low shot ricocheted off former Bull Zak Lilly and into the path of Alex Babos who tapped in.

The hosts were level in first half stoppage time, however, when failed clearances from Hereford following Alfie Bates’ corner allowed Lowe to fire in acrobatically from close range.

Lowe was in action at the other end of the pitch a minute later when he denied Ceesay from latching onto Babos’ low cross at the back post to keep the scores level.

The hosts were on the attack six minutes into the second half when goalkeeper Aaron Chapman was forced into a fine fingertip save to deny Morgan Robert’s venomous strike from finding the net.

Scott Pollock’s corner into the front post saw striker Danny Newton try to redirect it goalwards but his flicked effort flew just over the bar with three-quarters of the match played.

Hereford almost took the lead on 85 minutes when Chay Tilt bore down on the Brackley goal alongside Rose but his effort was saved by the legs of goalkeeper Jonny Maxted.

The 94th minute finally saw the Bulls retake the lead when a swift counter-attacking move saw Tilt slide in Campbell who consummately slotted the ball into the back of the net.

Brackley threatened to equalise for a second time in the 97th minute when the ball found Pollock inside the box but he could only fire his effort over from close range.
