HEREFORD boss Paul Caddis said his side are ‘in a good place’ as the Bulls came from behind twice to earn a thrilling draw and maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
Jamie Morgan and Brad Roscoe gave the away side a 0-2 lead after just 15 minutes before Aaron Skinner and Rick Smith’s own goal levelled the scores at the break.
Josh Hancock put Radcliffe back in front but Tate Campbell stepped up to rescue a point for the Bulls.
The result meant that Hereford remain unbeaten after five games with two wins and three draws.
“I certainly would have snapped your hand off if you’d said we’d sit fifth in the league after five games,” said Caddis,
“I’m trying to change the mindset of constantly looking at the negatives. The positives are we’ve scored a lot of goals.
“We are disappointed with the result and the goals we’ve conceded but I think we are in a better position than most.
“It's important we bring a bit of calmness to the game.”
Radcliffe opened the scoring in the eighth minute when Scott Duxbury’s driven shot across goal was tapped in at the back post by an unmarked Morgan.
The visitors stunned Hereford fans by doubling their advantage on 15 minutes after skipper Jordan Hulme flicked Josh Hancock’s corner into the path of Roscoe who proceeded to head home for 2-0.
However, Hereford halved the deficit five minutes later when Ahkeem Roses’ pullback from the byline was latched onto by Skinner who thumped the ball into the net from six yards out.
The comeback was complete on the stroke of half-time when Campbell’s driving run into the area saw him feed Rose whose pass toward Montel Gibson was knocked into the back of the net by Smith.
Radcliffe retook the lead on 58 minutes when substitute Jude Oyibo squeezed a cross into the box for Hancock who managed to nip in front of marker Sammy Robinson and tap home.
The away side almost doubled their lead once again when Tom Walker was slid in by Brad Jackson on the counter-attack but his effort could only find the outside of the post.
The Bulls thought they had equalised when Babos’ strike was parried into the path of Rose by Mateusz Hewelt on 76 minutes, but the striker was unable to convert from six yards out.
With only five minutes of normal time remaining, Babos' corner into the near post was met by the head of Campbell who flicked it home to level and maintain Hereford’s unbeaten start.
