KNIGHTON Town maintained their perfect start to the MMP with Norman Lloyd Central Wales League (South) campaign following a 3-1 win over border rivals Hay St Mary's under the Forest Road floodlights.
The Radnor Robins eventually broke the deadlock when Matt Tilson volleyed home from Jack Bright's eighth minute cross.
Former Llanidloes Town defender Adam Worton doubled Knighton’s lead when he poked home from close-range following a 12th minute corner.
However, the Saints halved the deficit six minutes after the interval when Darren Horrigan was on hand to convert Ricky Lynes' cross from the right-hand side of the penalty area from close-range.
The visitors virtually sealed all three points, with 11 minutes of the match remaining, when substitute Taylor Wozencraft took advantage of some hesitancy in the Hay St Mary's defence before firing the loose ball past home goalkeeper Ewan Peel.
Meanwhile, Penybont United prevailed in the following night’s Radnorshire derby when they defeated hosts Presteigne St Andrews 3-1 in the MMP with Norman Lloyd Central Wales League (South).
The Polecats made an early breakthrough when Fiinlay Mason converted from Louis Davies' third minute corner.
The hosts drew level 11 minutes later courtesy of Niall Rhodes low 25-yard free-kick that nestled in the bottom corner of Memphis Clements' net.
However, Penybont United regained the lead within 60 seconds of the restart through Isaac Price before extending their lead when Davies netted.
There was no further goal scoring action during the remainder of the match but the visitors had to play the final 35 minutes with 10 players after goalkeeper Clements was shown a red card by referee Nigel Mathias for handling the ball outside of the penalty area.
However, the hosts were unable to take advantage of the extra player and remain on the hunt for their first league win of the new season.
