WINGER Yusifu Ceesay has agreed to remain at Edgar Street ahead of the new National League North season getting underway.

The 31-year-old, who was born in Spain, has previously played for a host of National League North sides including Alfreton Town and Kidderminster Harriers.

The right midfielder joined Hereford last September and had an immediate impact scoring eight goals and providing 11 assists.

After looking into options for playing abroad over the summer Ceesay has now agreed to stay with Hereford.

“Ceesay was offered a deal abroad,” said Hereford boss Paul Caddis. “We only made a desire to go and better himself abroad, which I’m absolutely fine with.

“He never once said that he didn’t want to be at Hereford or play under myself. He loved it here, we love him.”

Ceesay has featured during pre-season for the Bulls and Caddis said that right midfielder is a player he ‘admires’.

The Bulls boss added: “Yusifu Ceesay is a man who doesn’t need to be introduced to our supporters. He came in last season and arguably changed our season in a positive way through his pace and power he provided us.

“I have a really open and honest relationship with all my players and particularly in the past few months dialogue between myself and Ceesay has remained very positive.

“I think it’s important to reiterate again that Yusifu Ceesay was never offered a contract by us and has therefore never turned any sort of deal down to remain at the club.

“Ceesay is a player I admire and I am really pleased we have come to an agreement to sign him for the upcoming season.

“He will have a huge impact on the pitch and has added another dimension to a really exciting group of players. I’ve got to say I’ve been really grateful Ceesay has been a man of his word and insisted he only wants to play under my management and in front of you supporters if he was to remain in England.”
