HEREFORD have signed striker Tom Hewlett on a three-month loan from League One side Burton Albion.

The 21-year-old has previously spent loan spells at Leamington, Hednesford, Belper Town and Rushall Olympic.

Hewlett was one of four Burton academy graduates to earn professional contracts in 2020 which has since been extended.

Hewlett made his professional debut as a substitute in Buton’s EFL Trophy match against Peterborough United in 2020.

Hereford manager Paul Caddis told the club’s website: “Tom has joined us on loan from Burton Albion on a short-term deal.

“Tom has experience in the National League North and has also featured in and trains daily with the Burton Albion First Team.

“He will bring an immense work-rate and power to the squad and we are looking forward to working with him. We’d like to thank Burton Albion for their help in securing Tom.”

The need for an additional striker comes as both Andy Williams and Jason Cowley are out injured.
