HEREFORD boss Paul Caddis has made his third summer signing as he looks to build his squad ahead of pre-season.

Defender Ollie Southern has joined the club from Bala – following Lassana Mendes from the Welsh Premiership club.

The 20-year-old right-back has signed on a one-year deal and joins Mendes and Aurio Teixeira as fresh signings.

“I am excited to bring Ollie onboard with us for this coming season,” Bulls manager Caddis told the club’s website. “He’s a versatile right back, who can also play at centre half. He has a presence and size that we need in a tough uncompromising league.

“Ollie has spent the last three years in senior football and for his age has played a lot of games, including appearances in the Champions League qualifiers.

“He is very comfortable technically in possession and good in one v one battles both defensively and offensively. He has an unbelievable work ethic and fitness levels, with an attitude that supporters will thrive off and really enjoy.”

Southern says he is looking forward to working under Caddis as Edgar Street and believes the new boss can ‘bring out the best’ in him.

“I’m delighted to join Hereford FC and can’t wait to get to started so that I can show what I can bring to the team,” Southern added.

“I’m looking forward to being coached by Paul Caddis, who I feel will be able to bring the best out of me, and really have got a great feeling about the season ahead.

“I can’t wait to meet my new teammates when we report for pre-season training.”
